Nicole Spenrath is the Grant Director for INK’s Stonewall Head Start and Early Head Start programs, serving Gillespie, Blanco, and Kendall counties. With over 20 years of experience in program management, compliance, and community engagement, she previously led the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Department at Hill Country Memorial Hospital, overseeing multiple clinic locations and serving over 1,750 clients. Nicole is skilled in financial management, team leadership, and program outreach, which have resulted in high performance and successful audits. A graduate of Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics, she is actively involved in several professional and community organizations. A dedicated wife and mother, Nicole enjoys supporting her children’s activities and volunteering, along with her passion for enhancing early childhood programs and services for families in the community.

Our mascot is an octopus, a creature known for its high intelligence and problem-solving skills. The logo’s tentacles symbolize the various frameworks of learning and the many arms of our network.
Leadership

Dr. Denise Shetter
Executive Director
Dr. Shetter has more than 20 years of experience in public education having served as a professor, principal and superintendent. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas Permian Basin, a Master of Arts Education from Sul Ross State University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. A native of West Texas, Dr. Shetter became the first female superintendent for Winona Independent School District in 2012 and led her staff and students to achieve “Met Standard” every year while balancing the budget for the first time in 10 years. Three years later, she accepted her second superintendent position with Kermit ISD where she saw similar results. She also served as a director at Odessa College and an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Tyler.
As executive director, Dr. Shetter oversees the programming, budget and staff for all of INK’s educational initiatives serving the needs of students, teachers, administrators and parents all across Texas.

Angela A-Zaiontz
Deputy Executive Director
Angela is an accomplished school improvement leader with a proven track record in transforming academic communities, including KIPP Texas and IDEA public schools. With a master’s degree in educational leadership from Texas Tech Graduate School, she has successfully led initiatives that improved a Title 1 elementary school from an F to a B rating through intensive coaching in best practices and restorative approaches. Angela is dedicated to fostering professional and personal growth among teams and has navigated complex challenges, including serving as a COVID response team leader during the pandemic. As Deputy Executive Director at INK, she is committed to enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction, actively seeking input to drive meaningful improvements.

Amanda Rollert
Director of Virtual Instruction
Amanda has more than 25 years of experience in education working as an executive, manager, trainer, teacher and coach, including eight years of virtual education leadership in both the public and private sectors. She served most recently as Chief of Staff and Director of Academics and Operations for the Texas Virtual School. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Texas Lutheran University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Tyler.
